About Us

ASM Research is a leading solutions integrator focused on using information and technology to solve real world problems for the federal organizations we serve. Our Information Solutions, Professional Services, and Information Assurance experts apply the latest technologies and industry methodologies to project management, analytics, personnel training, force structure, healthcare, and education challenges. For more than 40 years, our commitment to our clients’ missions has repeatedly produced extraordinary results.

Our History

ASM Research’s history begins in a Pentagon basement in 1978, where the company’s founder and two employees programmed a small system to support soldier training for the U.S. Army. Known then as Alexander, Shunk, and Martin Associates, the company established a lasting relationship with the Department of Defense and the reputation as a team whose extraordinary commitment to their clients’ needs and missions produced extraordinary results.

Today ASM employs programmers, developers, business and process analysts, change managers, service desk technicians, and project managers. Headquartered just outside our nation’s capital, the company has become a leader in full service Information Solutions, Professional Services, and Information Assurance. While the core of our service is still to the Department of Defense, our client base is now even broader with State Department, Department of Education, and many others.

Our continued growth is due to our ability to provide our customers with quality data management and analytical services, a commitment that is best demonstrated by our stellar customer retention rate. For example, the small system that began life in the Pentagon basement is still going strong and today is known as the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS), the premier training management system for the U.S. Army. ASM hires individuals with a strong commitment towards the customers’ mission based on their personal experiences and commitment to government service to work together as a team. The commitment, dedication, and resolve that was demonstrated in our infancy exists today and starts with our management group who lead by example and continue to hire staff who share the same resolve and dedication upon which ASM was founded. With offices in Virginia, Texas and New York, as well as personnel across the United States, we are well positioned to accommodate our customers’ requirements.

Upon a foundation of extraordinary commitment, we continue to build extraordinary results for our customers and our nation.
