Our Careers

With one hundred percent of the company stock in a retirement trust for its employees, ASM has the competitive edge over other companies of its kind. Our employee-owned corporate structure and culture contributes directly to our record of success in delivering the highest quality solutions for our clients – on time and within budget. Our employees feel empowered and an integral part of the solution to a customer’s problem. ASM employees not only feel ownership of our company, but they feel ownership of the projects they support. At ASM, employees do not view employment as “just a job.”

Our company President, Ms. Jeri Lassiter, was one of the initial employees of ASM having begun her career as a programmer. She has spent her professional career with ASM advancing from lead programmer, to Project Manager, to Manager of Technical Operations, and finally as President upon the retirement of the company founders in 2001. Mr. Tim Lassiter, Sr. VP, Operations, joined ASM as General Manager in 1989, with an extensive background in management based on career experience with Network Solutions, Unisys, and Xerox Corporation. Our senior management team stands apart from our peer companies in the industry, with exceptional management team stability, without the loss of a single Program Manager. Our focus on corporate stability, promotion from within and delivery excellence has resulted in serving a client base with a near 100% retention rate. In the world of defense contracting and information technology, this is a remarkable feat.

We have found that if an employee stays with ASM for two years, he/she is likely to stay indefinitely. We are able to accomplish this by hiring talented individuals and equipping them with the tools and flexibility to perform at their highest levels. Given our success of incrementally adding work to existing contracts and contract renewals, we have created a situation where our employees most often continue to work on the contract for which they are hired and are not being moved from project to project or terminated and replaced. This has given ASM an incredible amount of tenured institutionalized knowledge and skills. We have also found that proper utilization of subcontractors allows us to retain our own personnel even when the normal ebb and flow of contracts requires that staffing levels be reduced.
