ASM Research´s history begins in a Pentagon basement in 1975, where the company´s founder and two employees programmed a small system to support Soldier training for the U.S. Army. Known then as Alexander, Shunk, and Martin Associates, the company established a lasting relationship with the Department of Defense and a reputation as a team whose extraordinary commitment to their client´s needs and mission produced extraordinary results.
Today ASM employs more than 1,200 programmers, developers, business and process analysts, change managers, help desk technicians, and project managers. Headquartered just outside our nation´s capital, the company has become a leader in full service Information Solutions, Professional Services, and Information Assurance. While the core of our service is still to the Department of Defense, our client base has broadened to include other Federal Government clients, such as the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Justice, and Department of Homeland Security, as well as customers in state and local government.
Our continued growth is due to our ability to provide our customers with quality data management and analytical services, a commitment that is best demonstrated by our near 100% customer retention rate. For example, the small system that began life in the Pentagon basement is still going strong and today is known as the Army Training Requirements and Resources System (ATRRS), the premier training management system for the U.S. Army. ASM also embodies strong individual commitment from its employees as is witnessed by our Executive Vice President who is one of those two employees who originally designed and programmed ATRRS. The commitment, dedication, and resolve that was demonstrated in our infancy exists today and starts with our Management Team whose members lead by example and continue to hire staff who share the same resolve and dedication upon which ASM was founded. With offices in Virginia, San Antonio and Ft. Knox, as well as personnel across the United States, we are well positioned to accommodate our customers´ requirements.
